Happy 1st Birthday!

Our baby girl is becoming such a big girl!  She has given up the bottle and is drinking regular milk.  She pretty much eats what we are eating now and lots of it. It amazes me everyday how much food she can shove into such a little body.  Addie seems to be taking her time walking, but I am sure it won't be long before she takes off chasing after her cousins.  Her favorite word is hi and she says it all day long to everyone and everything that moves.  We can't help but smile every time we hear her little voice.

It has been an amazing year and we are looking forward to the new adventures that the coming year will bring.

Comment Issue

Typically whenever someone would make a comment on my blog I would be notified by email, so since I hadn't gotten any emails I just assumed no one was commenting.  When I went to my editing page the other day to my surprise I did have comments.  Whats with that?  It was fun catching up on all the positive comments that have been left the last few months!  Thank you for all of the wonderful comments!  To those of you who left a question I promise I wasn't ignoring you on purpose.  From now on I will keep a closer eye on this so it doesn't happen again.

Florida Vacation

We flew into Tampa Florida Tuesday (Feb. 23) and drove to Palmetto, Fl to spend sometime at Barry's Grandparents house.  It was a little chilly, but we were still able to do a little swimming and spend sometime on the beach.  On Friday Barry and I left Addie with Great Grandma, Great Grandpa, Aunt Megan and Uncle Clay and went on a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas.  We had a great time even though we missed Addie every minute.  I know Addie had a good time too being spoiled by everyone around her.

Our cruise arrived back in Florida Monday morning and we spent our last day of vacation relaxing with our beautiful little girl.  Tuesday we sadly said goodbye to Great Gma & Gpa and headed back to Illinois.

Medical Update

Yesterday we took Addie to the hospital to have an ultrasound of her kidneys and an x-ray of her bladder to make sure there isn't anything major going on that would cause her to have future UTI's.  They found nothing obviously wrong, but they will take a closer look and we will find out next week at our doctors appointment if there are any concerns.

I know one concern that I have is the amount of puke I have cleaned up in the last month.  Throwing up is apparently a symptom of a UTI and now I think she is throwing up from the antibiotic.  We already had to switch antibiotics once because she had an allergic reaction, so once again I will be calling the doctor tomorrow.  Oh the joys of motherhood.

The Dells

Two weekends ago we went to Wisconsin Dells for the weekend.  We had a blast!  Addie loved playing in the water and watching the hundreds of other kids playing.  She even got to go down a couple of water slides. When we got home Addie had a fever for 3 days and was not her happy self, so we took her to see the doctor.  The doctor thought she might have a urinary tract infection (UTI) and we got the confirmation today that she does:(  We are scheduled to go back to the doctor on Thursday to discuss further testing to make sure there isn't any issues that may cause her to have more UTIs in the future.

BooBoo

Addie received her first injury this week.  Nothing to big, but she got a little cut and bruise on her forehead.

We have been very busy the last couple of weeks.  We decided to put our house up for sale, so everyday that Barry has had off we have been looking for a new house.  Our #1 house right now is on
Addie Ave.  How funny is that?

Back to Normal

Now that the holidays are over we are back to somewhat of a schedule.  Monday we started a new session of swim lessons and Wednesday Addie had her first Tiny Tadpoles reading class at the library.  She loved to watch the teacher and all the kids during reading and singing time.  She was a little young for craft time.  I tried to get her to color, but all she wanted to do was eat the crayons.  Then we went to make a snowman out of playdough and all she wanted to do was eat the playdough.  We ended up just playing on the floor with some toys.  The teacher seems great and I think Addie will have a great time going to class every week.

In other new:  Addie now has 4 teeth and has atleast 4 more coming in.  They don't seem to bother her to much.  She is still her happy self.  We have been working hard this week to get her back in her crib and she is doing great.  She is sleeping through the night in her crib, but nap time has been a little more challenging.  It has been nice to have sometime to myself while she is sleeping in her crib!

9 Months Old!

Addie turned 9 months old on Christmas.  Yesterday we went to the doctor for her 9 month check up and she is now 19lbs 14oz. (75%tile) and 28.75in. (90%tile).  Today she started saying Mama! We were trying to get her to say it and she was concentrating real hard.  She worked really hard to sound it out, going mmmmmm, mmmmmm, mmmmmm, mama.  It was so cute.

Sledding for real this time!

Indoor Sledding

Addie got a sled for Christmas, but since she had a cold and it was raining we didn't want to take her outside. Grandpa Pat decided to make a little cart with wheels so they could pull the sled around the living room. She loved it!
