9 Months Old!

Addie turned 9 months old on Christmas.  Yesterday we went to the doctor for her 9 month check up and she is now 19lbs 14oz. (75%tile) and 28.75in. (90%tile).  Today she started saying Mama! We were trying to get her to say it and she was concentrating real hard.  She worked really hard to sound it out, going mmmmmm, mmmmmm, mmmmmm, mama.  It was so cute.

Sledding for real this time!

Indoor Sledding

Addie got a sled for Christmas, but since she had a cold and it was raining we didn't want to take her outside. Grandpa Pat decided to make a little cart with wheels so they could pull the sled around the living room. She loved it!

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful holiday season!  It was very busy, but we enjoyed every minute of it.  Addie seems to make everything a little more enjoyable these days.

Russell Christmas w/ Santa

Last night was the Russell family Christmas party.  As usual Santa showed up with presents for all the kids.  I wasn't sure what Addie's reaction was going to be, but I thought since Santa sounded a lot like Grandpa Pat that maybe she would be okay.  Apparently I was wrong.

The night began with the family going to church and Addie was great!  She smiled, laughed, and entertained all the Russell's who sat in front and behind us.  Then we headed to Barry's Aunt and Uncles for the Christmas Party.  Addie enjoyed playing with all the kids.  We were at the party until 10pm and the only time she cried was when she was on Santa's lap.

I have to share a funny conversation I had with one of the little boys last night after Santa left.  Here's how it went.

H:  "Did you know that Santa shaved before he left?"
Me:  "He did?"
H:  "Yep, in Joni's room.  Do you want to see?"
Me:  "Sure"
    (We walk to Joni's room)
H:  "See there it is"
(He was right, Santa's beard was right there hanging on Joni's closet door)  Kids say the funniest thing.

Day 4 - Family Photo Shoot

Saturday we had a family photo shoot at my Grandparents house.  It was quite the experience trying to get 4 girls under 18 months to be happy and sit still for a picture.  Ryan posted video of the event on his blog.  It took a lot of work, but we ended up getting some good family pictures.

Addie was really interested in Kennedy's Cheerios

I asked someone if she ever got a cheerio and today when I looked at this picture I see that she did.

After the photo shoot we headed to my Mom's house for Christmas.  With Brooke being due the day after Christmas we wanted to make sure the girls got to have Christmas together, so we decided to have it a little early this year.

Day 3 - Black Friday

Black Friday this year wasn't like the last couple of years.  Instead of getting up at 4 a.m. to get a good bargain, I decided to sleep in. Not only do I not need anything that important, but I guess I value my sleep a lot more these days.

Friday afternoon we had some family over for dinner and then we all headed downtown Ottawa for the festival of lights parade.  This was my first year at the parade and I couldn't believe the amount of people that came out for the event.  The amount of people lining the streets was crazy.  The girls didn't know what to think of all the madness.

The girls playing before the parade

All bundled up to watch the parade

All 5 kids after the parade (#5 will be joining us very soon)

This is how we have to feed Addie when there is so much action.
She won't take time out to sit and drink her bottle

Day 2 - Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day we had 3 different dinners to attend.  We started at my mom's house.  Addie loved the turkey, mashed potatoes, and noodles.  She just kept shoveling the turkey and noodles in her mouth as fast as she could.  This was the beginning of her newest eating pattern.  She has been pigging out every meal since then.

After my Mom's we headed to my Dad's house.  It is nice to have them both in Somonauk, so we don't have far to travel.

We ended our evening at the Mitchell Farm to celebrate Thanksgiving/Christmas with Barry's Family.  Barry's Grandparents go to Florida for the winter, so the kids get to open their Christmas presents early.

Then she crawled over and stole someone elses gift.

Yes.....That is a slot machine in their kitchen.

Addie hit Double 7's!  720 Quarters

Day 1 - Family Pictures

Wow what a busy holiday!  We had so many fun things go on in the last week that I am going to post them one day at a time.

(Wednesday) Day 1 - Family Pictures.

Unfortunately for the Farmers it rained last Tuesday and Wednesday, but secretly I was happy because it meant we were able to get family pictures taken.  We also decided to do 8 month pictures of Addie instead of trying to do 9 month pictures right around Christmas.
